Larry Swerdlove/Producer/Director for PBS Kids "Ira Levin is a multi-talented performer that children of all ages can enjoy. His two appearances on my PBS program, Jakers: The Adventures of Piggley Winks, were a resounding success. His music is catchy, clever and singable. The kids in our studio audience went wild for his hit song, "Ruby the Resuce Cow." I look forward to working with Uncle Eye again. "

5 out of 5 stars Three Cheers for Hippo on My Head!!!

Our whole family dances to this CD together. The kids sing it to themselves, even when they're playing outside. They relate to the the lyrics and enjoy the humor. One of them was even so inspired, that she wrote her own song; now that's a gift! I love the Green message too.

This CD is a must-have for any kid's music collection. We can't get enough of this CD. Just listen to Flamingo Tango!! Many other favorites as well. We also love Uncle Eye's other CDs -- Hippo On My Head and The Sultan of Time -- which children of all ages can enjoy.
earBuzz Review:
Uncle Eye and the Strange Change Machine offers up a Dr. Demento flavored collection of 13 tunes, and one very compelling and beautiful song in the 14th slot. The artist winds through perfectly produced songs that give the term 'quirk' a spin while supported with rock vocals and instrumentation - along with a few sound effects and background vocal oohs and ahhs. The titles say most of it, but then the tunes begin and complete the package. The first track, "Ruby the Rescue Cow", is an ode to the Chicago fire. Track 2, "Pollo Elastico", is a tribute to that brand of rubber chicken that can be ridden by a singer. . . Track 4, "Hyperactive Talking Cows" is equally nuts as the lyrics go, 'lets put on our dancing boots, manicure your unibrow, put on your fruit salad suits. .and the grownups sing, sugar and coffee, sugar and coffee. .wearin zip lock pantaloons, i was dancin' with a red balloon. .' Track 7, "Baseball Team from Outer Space", describes the Universe Series should it be played with over confident aliens, 'we're the best team in the universe, we'll come in first'. The final track is a surprise. After all the TMBG-tinged tunes and quirk comes "Captain Tree". True, the topic is a tree with such punnish lyrics as 'leaf your worries behind'..but the writing, performance, and production is that of a gorgeous independent college radio gem. We love the entire album, but the final track seals the deal.

CD Baby review for Sultan of Time
4 out of 5 stars Awesome Disc...grows on you big time!!!!!
Reviewer: Sean
I spontaneously bought this after previewing the songs. If you enjoy acoustic music then this is the disc for you. What I enjoy is that some songs are deep, some are meaning ful, others are just pointless but fun and catchy. Extremely happy with the disc. Ira has a voice that catches the mood of every song. I actually give it a 4.5. Great buy all around. Good Job Ira!

Uplifting the spirit & soul of the community !

A blend of liturgy, worship and contemporary pop.
A spark of originality to ancient melodies.

"Everyone needs this music." Larry Kelp, KPFA 94.1 FM Berkeley

"The CD shows Levin to be a musical cheerleader in the realm of Jewish worship. Singing in Hebrew and English, Levin lets it rip much as a gospel singer might, making spiritual connection paramount. Levin has a background in acting and song leading, and he brings both skills to bear on 'Madlik Oti.'" Dan Pine, Jewish Bulletin
